Burr Buckalew earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Texas Tech University in 1972. After graduation Mr. Buckalew moved to Dallas where he began his career in the title industry and worked for Lawyers Title Insurance Corporation as a sales representative. He traveled state of Texas and developed business for all of the Lawyers Title agents though out the state.

In 1976, Mr. Buckalew relocated to Houston after accepting a job as an escrow officer with, an independent agent, Lawyers Title Company of Houston.   Burr focused his career toward the commercial real estate market and became the leading commercial closer in the company as well as a highly respected closer in the industry.  He has developed lifelong relationships with clients and has handled every facet of the transaction to assist the client in obtaining a clear title.  Mr. Buckalew’s years of escrow experience and knowledge of the industry make him a great asset to the company. 

In February 1998, he and several partners purchased Lawyers Title Company of Houston from P.G. “Buck” Eckels.  At the time of purchase, the company was doing approximately $2 million dollars in revenue.  During the economic boom the revenues soared to in excess of $12 million. Throughout the last 10 years he has bought out each partner and is now the sole owner of AmeriPoint Title. Over the rich 100+ year history of the company it has always been owned by an employee and maintained its focus to provide the best service.  Mr. Buckalew embodies that very character by always being available to any client of AmeriPoint Title.

Mr. Buckalew and his wife Shelley have two grown daughters, Jordan and Kendall. They are members of Chapelwood United Methodist Church. Mr. Buckalew, a cancer survivor, is an active volunteer and speaker for CanCare, a volunteer organization that ministers to those with cancer. Mr. Buckalew is an avid bird hunter.
